In partnership with the American Heart Association, Comix from the Heart is an ongoing initiative that experiments with the genre of Graphic Medicine. To-date, we have involved 80+ patients, doctors, researchers, and artists from across the globe in the creation of these comics.
Comix From The Heart is a growing collection of Graphic Medicine from Nine Panel Project, and was edited by Matthew Manos. This initiative is made possible by the American Heart Association, USC Arts in Action, the USC Iovine and Young Academy, and verynice.
Each of the following comics were reviewed by American Heart Association science and medical experts for accuracy. The stories featured below are personal accounts from patients, doctors, and/or scientists. These comics are artistic interpretations of personal stories. They are not meant to communicate a scientific message or process.
